DISTRICT LEADERSHIP COMMITTEE
Every year, District 107 looks for new leaders that have a core understanding of Toastmasters International, including the mission, vision, and interconnection among clubs, Areas, Divisions, and the District. Additionally, these leaders should exhibit skills in strategic thinking, project/program management, effective communication, leading teams, and practical training.
In order to ensure successful District elections, the District Director Vera Margarida Cunha appointed this District Leadership Committee, whose work is critical in ensuring long-term District success. Our District Leadership Committee members were chosen, one from each District 107 Division, with the help of their respective Division Directors, for their leadership abilities, commitment to the best interests of our members, coupled with their experience serving on District Teams at different levels. On top of them, 2 more people were selected to work as possible back-ups.

I am passionate about people and enjoy helping and serving others. It fulfils my purpose. It allows me to become a better person and leader. I've been a mentor to many, and coaching new toasties on their journey while witnessing their evolution challenges me to keep up with my game. It's simply rewarding on many levels. I give back what Toastmasters has given to me! Sharing knowledge is caring. Belonging to an organization that transforms lives and is for the greater good is priceless

2 - Since Toastmasters allowed me to overcome my huge fear/panic of public speaking and made me a finalist in the WCPS, this is my way to give back: be available and do my best once elected

Just as with every new leadership position I’m able to grow and learn, I am also challenged and constantly find ways to reinvent myself, while incorporating the core values of Toastmasters. The Integrity to ask of others what I am also willing to give, and follow through on that promise, and be there when others need our help. Respect is critically indispensable when communicating and having the privilege of leading other people. The Service towards this incredible community, which never allows us to give up when facing hardship because we are much more than just clubs. We are volunteers, communicators, leaders, and friends who share a common goal. And finally, Excellence, which we always strive for without judgement or discrimination.
